The AcuRite 01057RM color weather station can help you plan your day. This review will fill you in on the pros and cons of the 01057. Similar to many other AcuRite home weather stations, this model uses the PRO+ 5-in-1 wireless weather sensor to gather readings in your backyard, on the farm, or at the track. The “RM” stands for remote monitoring. The remote monitoring on the AcuRite 01057RM allows you to access the wireless weather station data remotely via the My AcuRite app on your smartphone, tablet, or PC.
Connectivity

Weather Instruments
An AcuRite home weather station typically comes with a 3-in-1, 5-in-1, or PRO+ 5-in-1 sensor. Of course, as mentioned above, the 01057 comes with the PRO+ model. It includes the following weather instruments, along with a dual solar panel design.
- Indoor/Outdoor thermometer for temperature
- Indoor/Outdoor hygrometer for humidity
- Barometer for indoor barometric pressure
- Wind vane and anemometer for wind speed and direction
- Self-emptying rain collector to measure rainfall
The solar panels power an internal aspirating fan to draw in ambient air for an accurate measurement.

Power Source for Weather Instruments
The 01057RM uses a sensor array that runs off of batteries. Note, the solar panels on this unit are for the aspirating fan and do not power the sensors. AcuRite does make a great product called a remote battery pack that is recommended any time the weather instruments are in a hard to reach location. The battery pack allows for the batteries to be replaced remotely (up to 30ft away) rather than climbing a latter or getting on the roof, or wherever the sensor suite is mounted. Accuracy
This personal weather station has an accuracy that is below average, yet still close enough to be adequate:
- Temperature: ± 2° F
- Humidity: ± 3-5%
- Rain: ± 0.05” per inch
- Wind Direction Indicators: 16 points
- Wind Speed: 2-5 mph
Update Frequency
It’s not the quickest to report at 18 second intervals for wind speed and 36 second intervals for both wind direction and temperature to the display. Updates to the app are more like 5-15 minutes apart. Even so, this isn’t that important for most amateurs. .
Affordability
The AcuRite 01057RM color weather station is furnished will all the basic weather instruments you’d expect, but lacks any “extras” in this category. In addition, it has a nice color display that is vibrant and provides all the necessary information. The price point on this model is towards the lower end when compared to the other weather station reviews on our site. It also includes remote monitoring via the smartphone app, which many don’t have. For these reasons, The 01057 is a good value as long as basic, semi-accurate data with slower updates is all you need. it does come with a mounting pole and bubble level for easy installation.
